Re: NCC Special Services Partnering Meeting Minutes May 18, 2009

At 2:00 PM, on Monday, May 18, 2009, the NCC Partnering Committee met with New Castle County’s Department of Special Services. The following topics were discussed:

1. Sanitary Sewer Design Review Time Frames – Special Services received 20 plan submittals for review between mid-March and mid-April. This was more than they usually receive and it set them behind in reviews, but they are almost caught up.

2a. Southern Sewer District – There are no plans to expand sewer systems south of the canal at this time. The County is currently negotiating expanded capacity through the Middletown system.

2b. Northern Sewer District – All project are moving along according to schedule. The County is currently awarding the construction of the new interceptor along Gov. Printz Boulevard to a New Jersey firm.

3. Checklists, Guidelines, and Design Policies – We had a good discussion of our comments on the proposed checklist, policy, and guidelines. Special Services will provide us with an updated draft soon for us to have one last review before they publish.

5. Next Meeting – Our next meeting is scheduled for July 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM.
