TreasurerÕs Report – Mario Gangemi
A treasurerÕs report consisting of an account balances report, budget report and accounts receivable (A/R) report for December 2009 were reviewed and approved by the board.
Executive DirectorÕs Report – Mike Karia
The board discussed delinquent dues by Desmond A. Baker & Associates, LLC and Endecon, Inc.. Each firm has not paid dues for a very long period time despite numerous delinquency notices. The board approved removing Baker and Endecon from membership until such time that all past dues are settled. ACEC-DE will not pursue collection of delinquent dues from Baker or Endecon.
Ted Williams recommended that ACEC-DE contribute a $500 donation each year to the Minuteman Fund. Mario and Mike will review the budget.
ACEC-DE achieved our 2009 PAC goal, one of 29 states to do so.
Legislative Committee – Ted Williams/Rhett Ruggerio
Meeting was held with State Senator McBride. Items to present at the Joint Finance Committee were discussed at the meeting. Senator McBride agreed to attend a monthly meeting at a later date.
A meeting will be held with ACEC, DCA, Central Delaware Chamber, and Committee of 100 to discuss transportation funding. The meeting will include discussions on potential new toll revenues, para-transit spending and the DelDOT Capital Transportation Program.
Ted noted that a recommendation to use $125 million in GARVEE funds for funding US 301 RW and PE came out of committee.
Ray Harbeson and Ted to meet with Senator Carper on Friday, January 29 to discuss ACEC issues.
Action item – Mike to get legislative agenda out to all legislators within the next several weeks.
National Directors Report – Tim Anderson
Tim discussed a push by ACEC to support using TARP funds on infrastructure improvement projects. Tim noted that ACEC is pushing for funding to be used not just for shovel ready projects but for long term projects. Tim discussed upcoming items concerning budget that will be voted on during national meeting. The national meeting will be held 4/25/10 in Washington D.C. The federal transportation bill will in all likelihood not be acted on until after midterm elections.
